Need To Know

9-1-1 is the number you dial for serious emergencies in the USA, so 9-1-1 Air Charter says “emergency air charters”. 9-1-1 Air Charter is a dba of our actual company name, 9-1-1 Air Cargo, Inc., which we felt was too broad given that we only focus on air charter and onboard hand-carry services.

Legally we are an Indirect Air Carrier, a broad category that includes 3PL’s and forwarders. But our services are limited to air charters and onboard hand-carry couriers. A large percentage of our Customers include forwarders, 3PL’s, etc.

Just a personal choice. We’ve had family and friends hurt by those products.

Yes. Our expertise is in emergency air cargo. But we have flown reporters into news hotspots, mechanics to grounded aircraft, technicians along with special equipment, attendants for live animals, and even large groups for governments.

There are a lot of variables, but basically, cargo aircraft usually charge (per mile or per hour) from where they happen to be when you hire them; to your pickup airport; to your destination airport; and then back to their base. This means that the same aircraft on the identical route can be priced differently from one day to the next. Unless it costs more in fuel or offloading fees, there is no difference in cost whether you ship an envelope or fill up the entire aircraft.

Not on average. If cost is your only consideration, we recommend you try as many sources as you like. But over time, and with your feedback, we do offer the most cost-effective solutions. Because we don't owe allegiance to any one airline, we recommend the best aircraft for the job rather than steer you to a particular fleet. We enjoy good relationships and credit, and possibly volume discounts with many carriers, so we can be very competitive.

No. Of the hundreds of carriers supposedly signed up for the various competing bid systems, only a small percentage are monitoring each one at any given time. Many owner/operator carriers can't even monitor their phones 24/7, if they are flying or otherwise occupied when you call for a quote. It takes all the tools, not just one, to locate the best price.
